ISLAMABAD, Dec. 3 (Xinhua) -- A boy was killed and six others were injured in an explosion of a gas cylinder in Pakistan's southern port city of Karachi on Thursday morning, local media reported.

The incident happened inside a two-storey building which razed to the ground following the explosion on its first floor, according to the media.

Police said someone inside the house ignited a cigarette without realizing the gas leakage from the cylinder, adding that the fire erupted in part of the building following the incident.

The injured people were shifted to a nearby hospital.
