ISLAMABAD, Sept. 30 (Xinhua) -- Four people including two minors and a senior citizen were killed and 15 others injured when a bomb went off in Mardan district of Pakistan's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Tuesday night, police sources said.
Some unknown militants fixed explosive materials in a motorbike parked inside the market and detonated them with a remote controlled device before fleeing the scene, the police sources from the district told Xinhua.
Initially, the police sources said that the incident happened due to explosion of the gas cylinder of a rickshaw, but later explosive materials were found from the site during the investigation process.
The injured people including a kid have been shifted to a nearby hospital where one of them is in critical condition.
This is the second explosion in the province on Tuesday. Earlier, five people were killed and another was injured when a mortar shell exploded in Nowshera district.
