LAHORE, Aug. 14 (Xinhua) -- People waved their flags and marked the day with stunning fireworks on display.

Pakistan gained independence from the British colonial rule in 1947. The country celebrated its 74th Independence Day on Friday, when crowds of people came out to enjoy the firework.
