JAKARTA, July 2 (Xinhua) -- Although the COVID-19 pandemic has been dashing Indonesia, the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway project has continued construction as Indonesian President Jokowi said the current national strategic projects directly shore up people's economy and contribute to the national economic recovery.

Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Railway has a total length of 142.3 km with 13 tunnels, and a designed speed of 350 km/h. When it is put into running, the commute time from Jakarta to Bandung will be decreased from over three hours to 40 minutes.

As of Thursday, Indonesia has reported 57,770 confirmed cases and 2,934 deaths.
