Pakistan Government spends Rs. 220 million monthly on security of 600 VIPs

The Pakistan Government reportedly spends a whopping amount of Rs 220 million a month on the security of 600 prominent VIPs. espite security threats to the people of Sindh, especially in Karachi, where crimes such as target killings, extortion and kidnapping have always been high, the Sindh Government instead of increasing the number of law enforcers, which is presently 1:60 ratio, has spent the extravagant amount on VIPs security.


According to home department sources, a single personnel was available for the security of 6000 persons, despite having four security zones, the foreign security cell and the Mohafiz force.

Sources said that around 1310 law enforcers were deployed in the special security unit of the Sindh Police, some 1710 policemen were posted in security zone II, and about 1675 policemen were present in (VIP) security zone III, the Daily times reported.

Source said that only 32,000 policemen were deployed for the population of Sindh, which stood at some 50 million that had caused serious law and order problems.

Although several committees were formed to avert incidents of murder, kidnapping, none of them has given fruitful results to overcome the deteriorating situation in Karachi. (ANI)
